Evander Holyfield

"
Evander Holyfield, born October 19, 1962, is a former American professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2011. He made history as the only boxer to win the undisputed championship in two weight classes during the three-belt era, reigning as cruiserweight champion in the late 1980s and heavyweight champion in the early 1990s. Holyfield is the only four-time world heavyweight champion, holding various title combinations between 1990 and 2001.

Holyfield began as an amateur, winning a bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He turned professional at 21, becoming the undisputed cruiserweight champion by 1986. He moved up to heavyweight in 1988 and claimed the undisputed heavyweight championship in 1990.

Holyfield's career includes notable victories over George Foreman, Larry Holmes, and a famous win against Mike Tyson in 1996, reclaiming the WBA title. He also won a 1997 rematch against Tyson. Holyfield faced Lennox Lewis in 1999 for the undisputed heavyweight title, resulting in a controversial draw and a defeat in the rematch. He became the first boxer to win a heavyweight title four times after defeating John Ruiz in 2000.

Retiring in 2014, Holyfield is ranked among the greatest punchers and cruiserweights of all time and is the first boxer to hold world titles across three decades. He was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2015."
